sir,

RECEIVED (RES 22 AUG 06)

Crom Agents to Colonial Secretary Hong Kong.

Hong Kong

28th February 1903

546

In continuation of our letter of the 23rd of February No.30, I have the honour to request that we may be informed when we may expect to receive the first remittance on account of the Loan made to the Viceroy at Mukden.

2. In the Schedule to the Agreement between the Viceroy and the Government of Hong Kong we see that the first payment of interest for six months amounting to £24,750 is due on the 6th April next and we conclude that the amount will be remitted to us on or about that date and that on or about the 6th October next we shall receive a remittance of £134,750 which includes, in addition a further six months interest the first repayment of £110,000.

These sums we propose as suggested in the sixth paragraph of our letter of the 23rd of February to carry to the credit of a special account. We also propose to refund to the Colony out of this account the amounts which may have been paid from the General Account for interest on the temporary advances which we have made in anticipation of the issue of the loan.
